Best Christmas movies for your holiday

Are you looking for an ideal to spend your Christmas with your family? How about a cozy family movie night? We will provide you some suggestions of enjoyable Christmas movies of all time.

It’s a wonderful life (1946)

The movie is about the difficult life of a man named George Bailey. His company collapses; he is bankrupt and is sent to the prison, and the rich skinflint Mr. Potter takes over the entire town. Being so frustrated and remorseful, Bailey decides to commit suicide thinking it is better for the ones he loves with him dead. However, an angel named Clarence appears and shows him how life will be without his existence. It makes him realize that his life is actually a wonderful life.

I believe that this film is worth to watch again and again. During the movies, audiences will find themselves somewhat involve in the characters’ lives and be affected by their emotions. The film carries the message that each one’s life is important and has its own meaning despite how insignificant we think we might be.

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

When Doris Walker desperately tries to find a replacement for the drunken Santa at Macy’s department store, she recruits a man name Kris Kringle, who claims to be the real Santa Claus. However, after having a conflict with the store psychological tester, Kris find himself fails a mental examination to ensure his commitment. Fred Gailey, who is Doris’s lawyer neighbor, tries to defend Kris in the court that he is actually the real Santa.

The major conflict in this movie is whether Santa Claus really exists, which is that all of us went through as little kids – believe or not believe in Santa Clause. This is an entertaining yet touching movie that is suitable for audiences at all ages.

The nightmare before Christmas (1993)

This is an animation movie directed by Tim Burton. It is about Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloween Town. He is tired of doing the same thing each year for Halloween until one day, he discovers the Christmas Town. He is so fascinated by the idea that he decides to share it with his Halloween Town citizens.

This is a charming movie with an entertaining story, lovable characters and wonderful soundtracks. I believe that both children and adults will find it enjoyable watching the movie.

Love actually (2003)

The movie is set in London, England during a few weeks before Christmas. Love is the main theme in this movie. It tells love stories of 8 different people at all ages and social levels. Someone is falling in love; someone is falling out of love, and someone has an affair. Through the stories of those characters, the film brings out a message that “Love actually” is around us.

This movie will bring the spirit of love to our Christmas holiday. It is an ideal date film for a romantic night where love is filling in the air. However, this movie is not recommended for families with young children because of sexuality, nudity and language.
