Should children believe in Santa Claus?

It is a legend that an old big man wearing red custom with a shining smile brings gifts to all of the children in the world in Noel evening – that is just a tradition. But why is it a lie while they are taught to tell the truth all the time?

The image of Santa Claus riding nine reindeers has become so popular and affined to each of us. And with children, it is an indispensable part in their own marvelous world.

Should children believe in Santa Claus?

Is it necessary to tell children the truth?

No. Children live in a world that is half real, half miracle and full of fairies, dragons, ghosts, heroes in lots of cartoons… The belief of these magic is a way to protect children from the harsh reality, and there is no reason you should force your child to land his dreams when he is too young. Do you actually tell lies to your children when talking about some fairy tales or show them many popular cartoon records? But it is clearly hard. It is obvious that you do not believe in Santa Claus. However, to children, The image of Santa Claus riding nine reindeers giving gifts to all children in the earth in one night is not something weird. On the other hand, if your children accidentally see five same Santa Claus staying in queue at downtown, give them an explanation which is they are pretending to be Santa Claus and the real Santa Claus just comes right in the Christmas night when children are all sleeping.


When to tell your children the truth?

In general, in all cases, when you decide to tell them the truth, try your best to attach it into the family issues. Tell them that you did really believe in Santa Claus for a long time as well, which is really great in your perspective; therefore, you have a strong wish to bring this miracle belief for your children. Let them understand that they do not have to explain to their siblings, but pretend to still believe in Santa Claus as you did to your children. And the tradition will be kept through generations. Your children will highly appreciate your honesty and keep it as a secret.
