Famous places

Brazil is famous for its natural beauty and wildlife. One destination that tourists should visit in Brazil is the Amazon Rainforest. This forest has incredible biodiversity with around 2.5 million insect species, over 40,000 plant species and more than 2000 kinds of birds and mammals. Tourists can take jungle tours to Amazon including floating on floated wood along the Amazon River, enjoying the wildlife and discovering the mysteries of the forest. Besides the Amazon Rainforest, tourists can visit many waterfalls of all shapes and size in Brazil, especially the Iguacu Falls in eastern Parana, which is one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in the World.

Moreover, it will be a big mistake not mentioning the beautiful beaches in Brazil. Almost the entire coast of Brazil is lined with marvelous beaches, and beach lifestyle is a big part of Brazilian culture. Some of the most famous beaches are Ipanema and Copacabana in Rio de Janeiro. At those wonderful beaches, tourist can spend all day relaxing and enjoying the spectacular sights of the ocean and blue sky while sunbathing, or they may participate in many fun activities such as swimming, windsurfing and beach volleyball.

Besides its natural beauty, Brazil is also renowned for many magnificent artificial buildings.  The most famous example of this is the Cristo Redentor statue, which is an enormous open-armed Jesus statue located atop Corcovado Hill in Rio de Janeiro city. In addition, when visiting Rio de Janeiro city, tourists can stop by the world-famous soccer stadium called Maracanã Stadium, where the final match of 2014 World Cup was held.

Foods and drinks

Brazilian cuisine varies between regions, reflecting the country's variety of native and immigrant populations and its continental size. Feijoada is the country's national dish. Feijoada is prepared with black beans, various kinds of salted pork or beef products and more than two types of smoked sausage and jerked beef. This dish is usually served with white rice and oranges.

One famous drink in Brazil is its national booze made from sugar cane called Cachaca. This kind of drink is widely available and can be found easily in every bar in the country, and it is fairly cheaper than imported alcohol. For those who cannot take alcohol drink, let's try a native drink of Amazon area called Guaraná, which is a soft drink made from guaraná berry.

Brazil's culture is diverse from regions to regions. Some regions are very different from each other that it seems like they are different countries and the only thing they have in common is the language.

However, there are things that almost all the regions share in common, which include the favor of music. Music plays a significant part in Brazilian culture. Kinds of music such as choro, samba and bossa nova are heard everywhere, not only in special occasions but also in everyday activities. Another thing that Brazilian share in common is an interest in soccer. Brazil is said to be the kingdom of soccer, and the country has provided many talented players for the World. Soccer has long become a regular topic in everyday conversations among Brazilians.

If tourists visit Brazil on February or early March, they will have a chance to participate in The Carnival of Brazil, which is the biggest party in the World. Carnival is an annual festival to mark the beginning of Lent, the forty-day period before Easter. The festival usually lasts almost a week, and people celebrate it by wearing colorful costumes, singing, dancing and doing a lot of other interesting activities.

Brazil is a nice place to visit during your vacation. However, there are some disadvantages including the costs and crimes in Brazil. The costs of a vacation in Brazil are not cheap, so you should consider it carefully. In addition, Brazil has a high crime rate. My personal suggestion is that you should travel in groups with your friends or family so that the trip can be safer and more fun, and you can share the money with them to make your holiday less expensive. Also, you should remember avoiding some certain areas and not displaying large amounts of money or items such as laptops and jewelry. As long as you can keep your caution, you can have a wonderful and enjoyable trip.
